Debt recovery: scope & documentsA practical starting point for your receivables.4 answers
Which debts can Al Ittihad assess in the UAE?

We assess overdue commercial invoices, contractual payments, agreed instalments, education fees, rental balances and corporate account portfolios. Returned cheques and existing judgments can be reviewed for specialist follow-up. Each file starts with the debtor, the basis of the balance, supporting evidence and any dispute.

What documents make an unpaid invoice ready for review?

Prepare the contract or purchase order, invoices, statement of account, delivery or acceptance records, payment and credit history, and relevant correspondence. Include the debtor’s correct legal name and contact details. Identify disputed amounts separately so the review distinguishes the total claimed from the amount actually agreed.

What if the customer disputes the invoice or has partly paid?

We review the disputed items and reconcile payments, credits and delivery evidence before agreeing the next action. An accounting difference may need clarification; a contractual dispute may need legal assessment. The recovery approach should reflect the reconciled balance rather than continue pursuing an outdated figure.

Can you coordinate several overdue accounts together?

Yes. A portfolio review can group accounts by debt age, balance, evidence, dispute status and jurisdiction. We agree priorities and settlement authority, then organise account-level progress into a consolidated view. The reporting scope and frequency are agreed for your engagement.

University & institutional collectionsClear records. Respectful follow-up.2 answers
How does university tuition debt recovery work?

We review the enrolment or sponsorship agreement, fee schedule, account ledger, instalment terms and any withdrawals, refunds or disputes. The institution confirms who owes the balance and approves the contact approach. Follow-up then focuses on resolving the account while respecting student and sponsor relationships.

What should a university look for in a collection partner?

Look for accurate reconciliation, experience with institution-approved communication, clear settlement authority, careful information handling and useful portfolio reporting. Ask how student, parent, sponsor and employer liabilities are distinguished. Al Ittihad’s education service is organised around those account and relationship needs.

Fees, timing & the next stepUnderstand the engagement before proceeding.3 answers
How much does debt collection cost?

Ask for a written proposal for your file. It should identify the work included, service charges, any recovery-linked element, applicable tax and separate legal, court or translation costs. Terms depend on the debt, evidence, country and work required; no universal percentage applies to every case.

How long does recovery take, and is it guaranteed?

Timing depends on the evidence, dispute, debtor response, available assets and any formal proceedings. No outcome or fixed recovery period can be guaranteed. We assess the starting position and proposed next steps; if recovery stalls, the options may include further evidence, revised settlement discussions, legal review or agreed closure.

Does a returned cheque or unpaid debt always mean a criminal case?

No. Ordinary non-payment and a suspected offence require separate assessment. The facts, bank return reason, evidence and applicable law determine the route. Al Ittihad coordinates the file; MAE or the appointed legal practitioner assesses the appropriate legal steps within their authority.
